This past weekend, Keith and I got together with a bunch of our friends for a night of dinner, drinks and dancing. My best friend had her baby about a month ago and it was the first time in almost a year, that we've both been out, NOT pregnant. If that doesn't call for a celebration, I don't know what does. To get ready for the night, my first stop was to the Nexxus New York Salon so I can get my hair done. I wanted something a little different than how I normally wear it, so I chose this half bun, waterfall braid.
I came into the salon with freshly washed hair, but after a conversation with the stylist, he said that ideally, the style would have been better on day two hair. First he used their Heat Protecting Mist to create a protective barrier to shield my hair from the damaging effects of heat styling.
After curling, braiding and lightly brushing out the finished look, he gave me a great tip. Using their Volumizing Mousse would nicely define my waves and add some shine, without weighing it down. I never thought of using mousse after getting my hair styled, but I loved the result. After the mousse, he finished off with what he called "his favorite product from the line," their Comb Thru Mist to add some final oomph!
To finish, he applied one of my favorite products, their Nourishing Hair Oil, to my ends only.
All in all, I loved the outcome. It really was so different than my usual hair go-to's, which was fun for the night!
